As you all know, I love my wine, so when I was pregnant with Baby D, I searched high and low for a non-alcoholic wine that would hopefully taste somewhat like the real thing. I am sad to say I never found anything even remotely near what wine tastes like. The majority tasted like bad grape juice. So the two alternatives were regular grape juice or apple cider and neither cut it for me.
This weekend, we went to one of our favorite spots in Half Moon Bay, Sam’s Chowder House (try the lobster ceviche!) and I discovered Vignette Wine Country Soda in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. They were both such a refreshing change from the marketed non-alcoholic wines you find in the grocery store. They have a bit of bubbly and don’t taste like kids apple cider. Don’t get me wrong, they don’t taste like your good bottle of wine, but they definitely do more than the other stuff does.
I love the bottle and label and when it’s served in a wine glass you don’t feel like you’re missing out! So whether you’re pregnant or the designated driver or just feel like something different, you definitely need to try Vignette Wine Country Soda! They have a Rosé and California Brut as well! You can get a sampler pack on their website that comes out to $2.50/bottle. I paid $4.00 at the restaurant and thought that was a great deal!
